Carry your camera, and don't forget to pack extra memory cards. There is a lot to capture and store away in your private studio. Below are some of the places you mustn’t miss during your trip.

1. The Great Wall of China - This is obviously the greatest attraction in China. Some say that it is visible from space...but I highly doubt. Construction of the wall started way back in 206 BC.

2. The Forbidden City - You need to see how ancient Chinese royalty lived. It was the emperor's residence from Ming to Qing Dynasty. It was opened in 1420.

3. Terracotta Army - The ego on some of the Chinese emperors was astounding. Why would an emperor be buried with thousands of terracotta warriors and chariots? Find this attraction in Lintong, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China.

4. The Li River - For 52 miles, The Li River or the Lijiang courses through the Chinese mainland from Guilin to Yangshuo. Its source is the Mao'er Mountains. If you want to see rural China and its beautiful karst system, this is the place to hire a boat and go sightseeing.

5. Summer Palace - An ensemble of palaces, gardens and lakes awaits your exploration in Beijing. Its name is Summer Palace. You will especially love Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake. It was opened in 1750.

6. Potala Palace - This was the official residence of Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India in 1959. It is nevertheless a place worth visiting. It is located at 35 Beijing Middle Road, Chengguan, Lhasa, Tibet, China.

7. Temple of Heaven - If you are into Buddhism or want to experience the best of it, you are welcome to the Temple of Heaven on the southwestern end of Central Beijing.

8. Huangshan - If you possess an adventurer's soul, then this karst system will more than quench your thirst for beautiful, natural landscapes.

9. Tiananmen Square - Stretching over 44 hectares, the Tiananmen Square is an obvious place to take photographs for those sightseeing Beijing. It is located next to the Forbidden City.

10. The Ming Tombs - Visiting tombs gives me goose bumps...but that's me. If you find exploring old graveyards exciting, then the Ming Tombs in Changping, Beijing is the place to go.
