With such global importance the city is already one of the most visited in the world, and this is both by business and leisure travelers. These people cannot always afford to eat their meals in upscale restaurants. Fortunately, the city has some of the most budget friendly restaurants in Asia. Below are a couple of them.
Without overstating the obvious, Beijing is poised to become the next center of power. Actually, it has over the years sought to downplay its importance on the global stage, but everyone who follows international politics knows that it is only a matter of time until the city takes over the mandate of directing the world political and economic affairs from Washington.
With such global importance the city is already one of the most visited in the world, and this is both by business and leisure travelers. These people cannot always afford to eat their meals in upscale restaurants. Fortunately, the city has some of the most budget friendly restaurants in Asia. Below are a couple of them.
1. Da Dong
With just $15, Da Dong will serve you one of its 200 dishes on the menu and you will leave the restaurant thoroughly impressed. The 4,500-square-meter restaurant will always have lines, but do not give up - once the space opens up, you will be glad you waited. Dishes such as noodles made with lobster meat, hollow globes of C02-filled ice, steaks blowtorched tableside and many more are just what you can expect at this restaurant.
2. Najia Xiaoguan
This restaurant serves the traditional food of the Northeast China minority people called the Manchu. The signature dish is braised venison. Other uncut meats served here include the shredded, smoky duck meat as well as the red-braised pork. The capacity of the restaurant is 110 seated guests.
3. Kings Joy
Located near the Lama Temple, this restaurant serves the ever delicious dish of sautéed matsutake mushrooms with asparagus and gingko. The meat free dishes that are served here take you to the meat free nirvana that is professed by the followers of Lama.
4. Lei Garden
Although this is a pricey restaurant that has its roots from the Franchise based in Hong Kong, most Beijing residents go to the hotel for its specially prepared dim sum which is made of fluffy pork buns and dainty egg custard tarts.
5. Din Tai Fung
Juicy soup dumplings wrapped expertly by hand and cooked in bamboo steamers is the signature dish for this Taiwanese Chain. Amazingly, you can choose what you want in your fillings from pork, seafood, crab or veggie fillings. If you love Taiwanese food, then there is no better and budget friendly than this hotel.
The most significant thing about the above restaurants is that they all serve their food within the $10 - $15 range that is affordable to most budget travelers. You do not have to miss some meals or eat unhealthy junk just because your budget does not allow you to eat in upscale restaurants...at least now you know where to get the cheap food.
